In 2020, Derrick and Tanise Love moved to Seattle and couldn't find what they were looking for — a consistent, welcoming space where Black people could gather, connect, and feel at home without it feeling forced or awkward.

So instead of waiting to be invited, they built the room.

What started as curated meetups became something much bigger, because the need was bigger than they realized. Sync Seattle has grown into a trusted cultural platform — a third space for Black Seattle to find community, discover local businesses, and connect with causes that matter.

We're not just throwing events. We're building infrastructure for belonging.
